I am feeling discomfort after a car accident, but I am not in a lot of pain. Should I see a doctor as a precaution?
Often times the effects of these forces may not manifest immediately.
Seeing a physician after an accident is a good idea for many reasons: to rule out serious injury, document complaints of pain and protect one’s rights to PIP benefits which disappear if treatment is not sought within 14 days. It is always a good idea to seek medical treatment in this situation. Automobile accidents are unique in that they place they cause the human body to often move at mechanical speed and experience dynamic forces far greater than normal.
